"Sounds from Deep Waters" by Theodosii Spassov

There are several names in modern day Bulgaria that clearly enjoy the love of broad strata of people. Theodosii Spassov is a cultural asset and a matter of pride for us Bulgarians. He is a musician with a huge number of admirers all over the world.
In a series of recent interviews, he shared with us his motives for making music:

"I want to make my life interesting, especially when it comes to my musical endeavours. Sometimes I even accept quite adventurous, almost experimental, engagements. I'm quite curious as a person, and curiosity opens the door to discovery. It's a very deep and exciting feeling – when you touch things that no one has ever touched before and you discover and develop, you might create something completely different, something new… Of course, building on the achievements which have gone before you. I'm lucky to have many layers of achievements by other talented musicians before me. And many of them have consigned their talents to recordings."

Theodosii's latest project features extracts from his compositions for musical soundtracks to theatrical and cinema productions from 2003 to 2019.
"When someone knocks on your door, you have to open it," says Theodosii Spassov at the entrance to his workshop for theatrical and cinema music. He goes on:
"What they call 'applied music' for cinema and theater has to be composed in such a way as to have a life afterwards. Most of my compositions of cinema and theatrical music continue to exist in my concert programmes for many years. In this way the music becomes more perfect and has a longer life."
